PURPOSE

Thunder Bay Arts Council, Inc. is organized as a Michigan Non-profit Corporation with 501c3 status for receiving charitable gifts.  The Council has an all volunteer Board of Directors governing daily operations and programming of the Council's activities, including Member and Patron levels of involvement comprising the Council as a whole and its financial viability.  This page of our website is intended to provide reference to our organizations, it's Board and our governing documents and associations.

The Thunder Bay Arts Council, Inc. has served Alpena and Northeast Michigan through its volunteer board and officers since 1971. We believe that promotion of the visual and performing arts makes a lasting difference for everyone in our community.  Please enjoy this website, our social media contacts and postings, and all that we have to offer; and kindly consider contributing your time, talents and resources for the arts through and with us.

OUR

STORY

BRAND REFRESH

REFOCUSING A CREATIVE BRAND FOR A NEW ERA

Logo One Line_White.png

Taking inspiration from the Blue Heron, the TBA logo is a signifier of our core value pillars (Tradition, People, Expression and Versatility) while bringing in the storytelling aesthetics (Timelessness, Nature, and Performance) of our mission and programming. Without being overly nature-focused, we pay homage to our surrounding area and incorporated neon elements from classic and communal diner motifs - inspiring tradition and timelessness with a modern edge. Ultimately, our goal is to bring together the refreshed design aesthetic and brand experience to our revered patrons and newcomers alike.
